Schering-Plough, A Journey of Transformation: 1851-2009

One of our commemorative books highlighting a major pharmaceutical and consumer products firm. Services included:

  • Close coordination with corporate communications team
  • Research in company documentary and photographic records
  • Oral history consulting
  • Completion on an extremely tight deadline

Requirements

As Schering-Plough faced acquisition by a larger firm management sought to provide employees with a brief, compelling history to commemorate its achievements.

Solution

Ken began the project with deep immersion in the history of pharma. He also held extensive conferences with the Schering-Plough communications team and design and print vendors. Within two weeks Ken was at corporate headquarters doing research and conducting oral history interviews with pharmaceutical scientists and company executives.

Within 90 days Ken produced the content for a 48-page brief corporate history along with detailed directions for use of graphics. This enabled the design and publication team to complete the commemorative books in time for distribution to employees of the soon-to-be-acquired company. “Schering-Plough has a proud history, and the people who have made this company such as success,” wrote CEO Fred Hassan, “they are the heroes of this story.”
